Your
positive participation in your personal wellness is imperative. Your
spiritual participation, prayer and attitude are the most positive
determining factors of your own well being.
Start
slowly in taking herbs. Make sure you know the positive and negative
effects each herb has. Know the dosage and allergic reaction, or negative
reactions. Seek medical attention if you feel anything that may seem
strange.
Each part
of a plant carries different results. Learn the part of the plant you
will be using, root, flower, or leaf.
Learn the
names of each plant, the English and Chinese. For example; Job’s Tears is
the same as Coix or yi yi ren.
Some
herbs have a length of time they should be used. Learn the length of time
and stop at that time.
Before
treating a persistent problem on your own, make certain you visit with
your holistic, a western doctor, or a doctor that is experienced in
herbs. He or she can help you to take the correct steps to insure there
isn’t a serious illness.
Don’t
give herbal remedies to children, the elderly, or if you are pregnant or
nursing without first informing your doctor. Stop taking herbs
immediately when you find out you are pregnant.
Keep your
doctor informed as to the herbs you are taking, and for the reason you are
taking them. Don’t mix herbs with prescription drugs without first
contacting your doctor. |
